Inside the instrument

Fender has repeatedly reissued earlier Stratocaster designs, reflecting how strongly players value particular eras of the instrument. A classic Stratocaster layout combines three pickups with a vibrato system that lets players bend pitch mechanically. Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, and Bonnie Raitt are among the major players associated with the Stratocaster.
