Instrument story
The richly decorated Hellier Stradivarius violin was made in 1679 and is one of Stradivari's rare inlaid instruments. The viola d'amore historically used sympathetic strings that vibrated along with the strings being played. Niccolò Paganini performed on a celebrated Guarneri del Gesù violin that later became associated with Genoa.
