Spencer Smet Band
From recording history
Only about 200 examples of this early commercial Edison tinfoil phonograph were made by Sigmund Bergmann. One of Edison's early commercial tinfoil phonographs was made around 1878 and 1879. Turning the phonograph crank let the needle retrace its recorded path and reproduce sound mechanically.
