A music-history note

Smith's 1952 recording of Moonlight in Vermont with Stan Getz became an influential example of cool jazz guitar. Smith's career crossed jazz clubs, radio, orchestral work, recording studios, and popular songwriting. Johnny Smith was a regular performer at New York's Birdland jazz club.
